Children of Hope: Then and Now
Victor and Simini Prafulla and Lincy Ullas (Simini's sister), started AH in 2008. They now have 27 precious children in their care, ranging from 6 months to 17 years old. I met Victor, Simini, and Lincy in 2006 at Emmanuel Orphanage, my first trip to India. Between that Christmas and the next, they started AH and I was there for their first Christmas. The next year, 2009, was the year between leading AIM trips and coming on staff with AIM, when God allowed me to return to India three times and spend significant amounts of time at AH.
The thing that always struck me about AH was how it lived up to its name. A means "hope" in Hindi. Whenever I am there, no matter what other problems are happening for AH or for me personally, I feel peace. These little ones know peace.
They have great faith too.
One day last week, one of our participants wasn't feeling very well. She went to lie down in a quiet room, and I brought 3 of the smaller children to her so they could pray for her to get better. The little boy and girl stood by the bed, hands folded, praying in Hindi. And the littlest girl, Tabatha (pictured below in the pink dress and then the purple shirt), crawled on the bed, placed her hand on Chelsea's stomach, and promptly started praying for in English: "Dear Jesus… thank you for… this good lunch…" Until Lincy, her aunt, leaned forward, told her they were praying for Chelsea to feel better… Tabatha quickly switched to Hindi and prayed first for herself to feel better (because she'd been sick as well) and then for Chelsea. It was such a sweet moment!
So, I thought I'd let the photos tell the story… the ones from then and the ones from now. If this blog formats correctly, the pictures on the left should be from 2009. The ones on the right, from 2011.

The leaders of this ministry rely solely on their faith in the Lord, trusting Him to provide for everything from food, rent, and medicine for the children. Right now they are praying for supporters not only for their monthly needs, but also to purchase land on which they can build a new children's home, so that they will not have to rent their house anymore.
If God is laying it on your heart to possibly support/pray for them, you can go to http://www.ashahouse.net/wp/ and follow the links from there. And like I said earlier… if you'd like to meet these children personally, please stay tuned!
