At one point during the week, Connie and I found ourselves in front of this beautiful cathedral in the heart of Moravia. it turned out that a group from our team was there in the park in front of the cathedral, and they’d met someone who offered to give them a tour– and take them up to the belfry of the cathedral.

We found out later that this was an honor only given once a year.

Despite my fear of heights, this was something I couldn’t miss. So I started climbing the stairs. At each level, the view grew more and more amazing… until we there we were at the top. We could see all the way to the mountains in on direction and out towards the volcano in the other. So beautiful!

On the way down, I took my time. When I got to each level, I’d get my bearings and move on. But at one point, I noticed Chris, my co-leader, standing near a beautiful view. I walked over to take pictures from the same place… and promptly slipped and fell in pigeon poo. Covered from toe to waist, I’m told my facial expression was something along the lines of, “What just happened?”

Definitely something I will never forget!

To all of you who prayed, encouraged, emailed, and supported me– thank you so much! I am so thankful for each of you– and so glad God let me serve Him in Costa Rica. I hope these blog posts give you some small of idea what it was like there… how God worked, how He captured my heart, and how incredible the Costa Rican church is. What an incredible blessing!
