Hey, Friends! Happy 2010! Has anyone else been as confused about what to call this year as I am? I keep wanting to be different, drop the first "0", and call it:"2-10" for some reason. This conflict has kept me awake many a night. But alas, I'm going to do with... dum dum dum... whatever comes out of my mouth. Either way, it's weird. And I can't make my usual smiley face. After a decade of putting smiley faces in dates, I feel like something important is missing.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's! This was the first year in a while that I didn't go to India to throw a ginormous Christmas party, but I did help throw an awesome one in Gainesville, Ga! See the previous post for details. Last year I left the day after Christmas for India for an awesome two week trip that started the year right: full of laughter, spicy spicy spicy food (yum!), Jesus, orphans, and lepers. This year I also left home the day after Christmas, but the destination was a bit more local--though definitely foreign in its winter state:

My brother and his amazing new wife (woohoo--I have a sister now!) live down near Tybee. So my parents and I drove down the day after Christmas. It was great to see them and who doesn't like two days in a row of opening presents? The only one not thrilled was my poodle, who didn't get to go. After presents, we ate (kind of) on the beach for Spanky's famous burgers and spuds and then went to the magical place itself.

This is me running out of the water. It was COLD!

And here's me with my new sister, Faith:

It was great to hear that beautiful music, even if it was cold! Next time there's a family visit, however, I request warm sunshine to be in full attendance!

It was so great to be home at Christmas and enjoy all of the little (and big) things that make the season so special to me. However, a lot of my presents were for a new apartment--and I can't wait to use them! I even have purple tools to match my beautiful new jacket (in the picture above)! Look out world! :0)

In order to move, I still more people to commit to monthly support. Will you pray about this? If you'd like to contribute, just click on the "Support Me!" link on the left. Thank you! And Happy New Year!
